As the owner of two Dalmatians, Struan and Talaidh, I know that many dogs need plenty or exercise in order to keep them healthy, both physically and mentally. That is what The Dog Rambler is here to do by offering energetic walks for active dogs. With the busy lifestyles many of us live these days it is not always easy to give your dog the exercise it needs. That is what I am here to help you with.

I’ve been around dogs all my life and over the years have had five Dalmatians and one Labrador. I’m an experienced and keen countryside and hill walker (Talaidh is named after one of my favourite mountains Beinn Talaidh on Mull). With the Dog Rambler I’ve combined my love of dogs with my passion for the walking in the countryside and hills. I have a thorough knowledge of walking opportunities in the Edinburgh, Lothians and Scottish Borders area.

I also understand that you will want to know where your dog has been and what it has been up to - that is why I will send you an email e-diary and photo slideshow for each walk.

Now into my 40s I'm taking a new direction having left my previous job of over 7 years just before Chritmas 2009. I was Head of Policy and Public Affairs with the Chartered Institute of Housing in Scotland, responsible for the Policy and Practice Team and a wide range of services for CIH members to help them to do their jobs to the best of their ability. The Dog Rambler is a new challenge for me but the ethos of customer care and professional service delivery from my CIH days are key to The Dog Rambler.
